12-11-24 blood and platelet donors needed this holiday season

The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross is encouraging people to donate blood and or platelets this holiday season.  Red Cross spokesperson Laura McGuire says while all blood types are needed, Type O blood donors and those giving platelets are especially urged to give now.  Record-breaking November travel is expected to carry into the new year, which could cause some potential donors to put off blood donation until after the holiday season.
