12-10-24 suv breaks through thin ice on lake puckaway

Nobody was injured after an SUV broke through the ice on Lake Puckaway in Green Lake County over the weekend.  The incident happened Saturday afternoon.  The driver was able to climb out of the vehicle to safety.  The SUV was pulled out of the lake Sunday.  Lake ice was estimated to be only a few inches thick.  The DNR reminds the public that no ice is safe this time of year.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday rejected an appeal from Wisconsin parents who wanted to challenge a school district's guidance for supporting transgender students.  The justices, acting in a case from Eau Claire, left in place an appellate ruling dismissing the parents' lawsuit.  Three justices, Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas, would have heard the case. You can support Wisconsin's economy by choosing local Christmas trees this holiday season.   Greg Hann with the Wisconsin Christmas Tree Association says Christmas trees are harvested from over 800 tree farms in the state contributing $50 million in sales to the state's economy.  Wisconsin ranks 5th in the nation for Christmas tree production.  Wisconsin tree growers harvest more than half a million trees every year.
