3-17-25 waupun garage fire

A heater is being blamed for a fire that significantly damaged an attached garage in Waupun. Shortly before 2:30pm Sunday firefighters responded to 811 West Jefferson Street and quickly brought the fire under control before it could spread to the house. Nobody was injured.

3-17-25 fdl county marsh fire fueled by strong winds

Nobody was injured in a marsh fire fueled by strong winds in Fond du Lac County over the weekend. Firefighters from 11 departments battled the blaze on County Highway CCC. A controlled burn quickly spread from an acre to five acres before it was contained. Strong winds knocked down tree limbs throughout the Fond du Lac area Friday night, including this large tree branch that landed on a vehicle on 11th Street in the city of Fond du Lac.  Nobody was hurt.

3-15-25 Dodge County Board Supervisor False Claims

A Dodge County Board supervisor convicted of trespassing while carrying a firearm for carrying a gun into a Neosho elementary school is accused of making false allegations against the Dodge County sheriff in a video. The video alleged sheriff Dale Schmidt falsified a police report. The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office concluded in an independent investigation that the Dodge County Sheriff provided accurate information and did not provide any false information.
