7-20-20 six new covid-19 cases in fdl county

Six new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Fond du Lac County Friday bringing the total number of cases in the county to 425.  Environmental Health supervisor with the county health department Danielle Vollendorf says there are 52 active cases, 367 people have recovered and four people are currently hospitalized in Fond  du Lac County. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

7-20-20 milwaukee and madison schools to start school year online

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Students in Milwaukee and Madison public schools will begin the new school year online with plans to eventually return to the classroom once the coronavirus abates. 7-20-20 potawatomi hotel and casino layoffs

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is laying off 1,600 employees from its Milwaukee facility due to a decline in tourism from the coronavirus pandemic. Potawatomi had 2,600 employees before shutting down in March. About 1,000 people were brought back for the reopening in June.  The remaining employees will be laid off starting Aug. 15. A shortened  Fond du Lac County Fair gets underway Thursday with restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic.  Fair board secretary Matt Immel says the Fair Board discussed it’s options for several weeks to see if they could make it work.  Immel says he is confident steps that will be taken in terms of social distancing,  attendance and cleanliness will make the Fair safe for patrons.

7-16-20 popular upper peninusla music festival cancelled

HERMANSVILLE, Mich. (AP) — A popular four-day music festival in the Upper Peninsula has been canceled due to the coronavirus. The Woodtick Music Festival in Hermansville, west of Escanaba, had planned to have 30 bands on two stages, starting July 30. It would have been the 27th annual event. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin has broken a record for confirmed new COVID-19 cases for the fourth out of six days. Gov.
