(AP) — A school officials says University of Wisconsin-Madison’s record freshman enrollment this fall is due in part to pent-up demand among high school graduates who spent much of last year taking classes online. 9-28-21 funeral services for fdl police officer who died from covid-19

Funeral services are being held this week for a Fond du Lac police officer who died from COVID-19.   Officer Joseph Kurer died last Wednesday at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee.   He was 26 years old.    Visitation will be held from 3pm to 8pm Tuesday and 9am to 10:30am Wednesday  at Holy Family Catholic Church.   Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday followed by law enforcement and military honors.  Masks are required.   A […]

Fond du Lac bus ridership continues to be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.  Transit manager Lynn Gillis told WFDL news ridership has been down over the last 18 months, and now with the recent surge in cases.  Gillis says ridership is probably at about 70-percent of normal going back to 2019.  Bus ridership did pick up earlier this month with the start of the school year.  Masks are required for anyone […]

9-27-21 uw oshkosh student vaccinations at 70 percent

University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt announced that UWO students have reached a 70% COVID-19 vaccination rate.  In addition to the health and safety benefits of reaching this vaccination milestone, qualifying UWO students are now eligible for several $7,000 scholarships awarded by UW System through its 70 for 70 campaign. 9-24-21 fdl police chief says officer who died from covid-19 contracted virus while on duty

The Fond du Lac Police Chief says all evidence indicates a police officer who died this week from COVID-19 contracted the virus while on duty.  Chief Aaron Goldstein made the statement in a Facebook post.  Twenty six year old officer Joseph Kurer died Wednesday at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee.    Goldstein says the death is being treated as a line of duty death,  the second COVID-19 line of duty death in Wisconsin.  Meanwhile a memorial […]
