The Waupun Fire Chief says he’s ready to get his COVID-19 vaccine.  Police and firefighters are next in line to receive the vaccine, starting next week.  Waupun Fire Chief B.J DeMaa says it’s exciting that the vaccine is available.  "Yes, we'll be in line for that shot,"  DeMaa told WFDL news.  "It's an exciting day for police and firefighting agencies across the state."

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — Aspirus Health is buying Ascension hospitals, clinics and transport services in central and northern Wisconsin. The Wausau-based health care provider says it will acquire seven hospitals, 21 physician clinics and Spirit Medical Transport from Ascension. The acquisition includes hospitals in Eagle River, Merrill, Woodruff, Stanley, Tomahawk, Rhinelander and Stevens Point. No terms were disclosed. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Senate has overwhelmingly passed a pared-down COVID-19 relief package. And Democratic Gov. Tony Evers has promised to sign it if it clears the Assembly. 1-12-21 covid-19 prison deaths

The state Department of Corrections says eight inmates at the Waupun and Oshkosh prisons are among the 25 Wisconsin state prison inmates who've died from COVID-19, four at each institution.  Two inmates have died at Dodge Correctional, two at Fox Lake and one at the Taycheeda Women’s Prison.  At least one inmate has died at 12 of the 37 correctional facilities across the state since the beginning of the pandemic.

A lower number of COVID-19 cases and fewer people are getting tested in Fond du Lac County.   Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the Drive Through testing site at the Fairgrounds saw it’s fewest number of people last Thursday, since it first opened last fall.  Mueller says the site has the capacity to test about 900 people, but only 278 people got tested Thursday.  Mueller says if you look at a […]
