WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — Aspirus Health is buying Ascension hospitals, clinics and transport services in central and northern Wisconsin. The Wausau-based health care provider says it will acquire seven hospitals, 21 physician clinics and Spirit Medical Transport from Ascension. The state Department of Corrections says eight inmates at the Waupun and Oshkosh prisons are among the 25 Wisconsin state prison inmates who've died from COVID-19, four at each institution. Two inmates have died at Dodge Correctional, two at Fox Lake and one at the Taycheeda Women’s Prison. At least one inmate has died at 12 of the 37 correctional facilities across the state since the beginning of the pandemic.
