10-13-20 new marquette law school poll shows overwhelming majority of state residents support mask order

A new Marquette Law School poll says most Wisconsin residents support the statewide mask order.     According to the poll, 72 percent agree that masks should be required in public places.  "Those majorities are holding over every region of the state,"  poll director Charles Franklin told AM 1170s Between the Lines program.  Meanwhile, 27 percent say they are very worried about being ill from the coronavirus, up from 21 percent in September.  […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — U.S. Sen. The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is telling people not to go to the hospital emergency room to get a COVID-19 test.  Kim Mueller says with COVID testing demand increasing, many people are showing up or calling emergency department to get a test.   Mueller says emergency departments are not set up as locations for community testing.  Mueller says people experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should call their doctor or the COVID-19 clinic.  […]

10-12-20 downtown fdl partnership encourages residents to support local businesses

The executive director of the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership is encouraging residents to support local businesses with a new emergency order in place as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.  Amy Hansen says the governor’s emergency order didn’t come as a surprise.  Hansen says the governor’s announcement of a second round of grants to help small businesses and communities hit hard by the pandemic was welcome news.
