11-10-23 dodge county sheriff’s office receives public safety grant

On October 31, 2023, Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt received notification that Dodge County has been awarded a grant totaling $375,470.15 from the State of Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs. This cost covers 90% of the funding for an upgrade to the sheriff’s office Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP),  commonly known as the dispatch center. (AP) — The Republican chair of the Wisconsin Assembly’s elections committee along with a veterans group and other voters filed a lawsuit seeking a court order requiring the sequestering of military absentee ballots in the battleground state. 10-25-22 waupun police respond to reports of gunshots fired

Waupun police have arrested a man who  created a scare after residents heard gunshots.    Shortly before 1pm Monday a resident called  police reporting that she heard what sounded  like a gunshot fired from a vehicle in the area of a junk dealership  on Jackson Street in an area near the Mill Pond.    Police responded and located two individuals who said they were  shooting at squirrels.  Police are continuing their investigation.
