An Appleton man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac County. It happened shortly before 11:30pm Monday on Highway 26 near Rose-Eld Road. A preliminary investigation shows the motorcycle was northbound on 26 and struck a deer and the motorcycle was then struck by a southbound semi. The motorcycle operator, a 37 year old Appleton man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Despite all of the concerns about the potential for problems, the executive director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, says all indications are the presidential election in Wisconsin ran smoothly. A huge voter turnout in Fond du Lac County this week. County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says 93 percent of registered voters cast ballots both absentee and then in-person on Tuesday. A Beaver Dam man convicted of head-butting a police officer is going to prison. A Fond du Lac judge has ordered a second competency exam for a Fond du Lac man who is charged with a hate crime for intentionally crashing his pick-up truck into a motorcyclist, killing the motorcycle operator.
