(AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources says it will begin considering high-capacity wells' effects on surrounding water bodies when issuing permits in light of Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul's stance on the issue. 6-3-20 teen charged in fatal waupaca county crash

WAUPACA, Wis. (AP) — Prosecutors in Waupaca County have charged a 17-year-old boy they say intentionally caused a crash that killed a woman. Logan Stedjee is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in last Saturday’s fatal crash in Bear Creek. A criminal complaint says Stedjee was going about 100 mph, ran through a stop sign and struck a pickup truck, killing the woman.   Stedjee suffered broken bones in his foot and […]

5-29-20 five pet dogs die in beaver dam fire

Several pet dogs died  in a fire that damaged a Beaver Dam home.  Shortly before 10am Thursday firefighters responded to a report of a house fire with multiple pet animals trapped inside a Gould Street residence.  Five dogs and a parrot died in the blaze.  The homeowner was not home when the fire broke out.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

5-22-20 construction worker dies at horicon school construction site

Horicon police say a construction worker died after being struck by falling debris at the Horicon Junior/Senior High School this week.   Police say the worker, a man  in his 30s, died Wednesday and  that no foul play is suspected.  The Occupation Safety and Health Administration is investigating.

5-21-20 fdl man receives non life-threatening injuries in shooting incident

5-20-20 man fatally shoots self during police struggle

CALEDONIA, Wis. (AP) — State officials say a man shot and killed himself while struggling with a police officer in Caledonia. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation says the officer was trying to take the man into custody Monday when they scuffled.
