2-4-19 winter weather-milwaukee deaths

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee authorities are investigating what appear to be two weather-related deaths.   Both of the victims were discovered on Friday. A 63-year-old woman was found about 6:45 a.m. in a scorched trailer where police believed she was using her gas stove for heat. 1-31-19 wi lawmakers reintroduce prostitution surcharge bill

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin legislators are bringing back a bill that would impose a new fine on anyone convicted of soliciting prostitutes.  The bill would impose a $5,000 fine on anyone convicted of patronizing, pandering or soliciting prostitutes or keeping a place of prostitution.  The money would cover treatment and services for sex-trafficking victims as well as investigations of internet crimes against children.  Republican state Sens. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin tax collections are projected to be down about $282 million from a previous estimate , while the state will still collect about $2.4 billion more in taxes through the middle of 2021.  The new estimates from the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau will be used by Gov. 1-26-19 remembering jeffrey merrill

Thirty years ago Thursday Fond du lac High School sophomore Jeff Merrill died playing the sport he loved.  Merrill was on the Goodrich High School hockey team when he was struck in the chest with a hockey puck in a freak accident on the ice.  Merrill died that evening at the hospital.  This Saturday the Fondy Cardinal hockey team will be hosting JM 21 Night in rememberance of Merrill.   Merrill’s […]

Tony Evers campaigned on the promise to increase funding for public schools by $1.4 billion and now a bipartisan legislative task force is also calling for significant spending hikes.  Commission co-chair state Sen. 1-9-19 fdl police say shooting was drug-related

A Fond du Lac man faces multiple charges in connection with what police are describing as a drug related shooting.  Assistant police chief Steve Klein says nobody was injured when at least three gunshots were fired into a home on east Ninth  Street Monday afternoon.  Nobody was inside the home at the time of the shooting.  One of the bullets went through the home and entered a neighbor’s house.

10-25-18 van dyne man shot in leg when dog jumps on gun

A Van Dyne man was injured when a dog jumped on his gun and it went off while the man was was duck hunting.   Fifty five year old Stewart Henderson drove himself to the hospital with birdshot in his leg following the incident this week  in the Horicon Marsh in Dodge County.   It’s the third duck hunting accident in the area within the past week.
