5-5-16 fatal helicopter crash in manitowac county

TOWN OF MAPLE GROVE, Wis. (AP) — Federal aviation officials say a pilot has died in the crash of a helicopter in Manitowoc County.  The Federal Aviation Administration says the MD-369E chopper crashed near Reedsville Wednesday morning. MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Bucks have signed a 30-year lease with the public entity that will own the team's new arena.  The Bucks will pay at least $1 million annually to rent the arena from the Wisconsin Center District. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has signed sign a bill lifting Wisconsin's ban on new nuclear plants.  State regulators currently can't approve a new nuclear plant unless a federal facility for storing waste exists and the plant doesn't burden ratepayers. MILWAUKEE (AP) — A new poll shows that despite Gov. Scott Walker's approval rating edging up steadily, his endorsement of Ted Cruz might not have much effect.  The data from Marquette University released Wednesday shows Walker's approval at 43 percent, up from 37 percent last fall.  It also shows that among likely GOP primary voters, his approval rating is at 80 percent. 3-8-16 ripon man bound over for trial on armed robbery charges

A Ripon man arrested in connection with a drug-related armed robbery has been bound over for trial.  Joseph Hunt waived his preliminary hearing on a charge of armed robbery.  Authorities say Hunt robbed a Ripon man at knifepoint during a heroin buy.  Hunt is being held in the Fond du lac County Jail on $5000 cash bail.
