5-29-15 melting bee hives apparently start fire that destroys alto barn

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a barn in the town of Waupun.  Firefighters say the blaze Thursday apparently started by melting old bee hives in a barn at the Katherine and Brian Emmer residence on Hemp Road near Alto.  The home owner said he was melting old bee hives and forgot to shut the burner off.

5-16-15 deadly fire in waupun-victim identified

Authorities have identified the man killed in an apartment fire in Waupun.  Waupun Fire Chief B.J DeMaa says the victim has been identified as 54 year old Todd Conn.  He was found dead in his apartment.  DeMaa says the state fire marshal is involved in the investigation but the cause is not believed to be suspicious.  Firefighters were called to an apartment building on West Brown Street about 10pm Thursday.
